Prices and tickets

Tonbridge Castle remains temporarily closed to visitors, with reopening expected in July.
We’re carrying out essential roof renovation works to preserve and protect this much-loved historic landmark. As is often with heritage restoration projects, the work has proven more extensive than initially anticipated. Additional challenges have been uncovered as the project has progressed, leading to a necessary extension of the closure.
We understand this may cause some disappointment and we truly appreciate your patience and support. We’re excited about the improvements being made and look forward to welcoming our community and visitors back later this summer to enjoy the castle at its very best.
Listed events are still going ahead as planned. The gift shop remains open, with limited access to the castle grounds.

Exploring the castle takes around one hour, although you are free to go at your own pace. Last entrance is an hour before closing time.
Please note: the castle is dark in places, with life-like models which some children may find scary. You will need to climb steep steps, which may be unsuitable for very young children. For this reason, children should be accompanied by an adult.
Online tickets
We recommend booking online to guarantee entry. You will receive an email with your booking details. Please bring this to the reception in the gift shop to get access to the gatehouse. You can collect your free audio tour at the same time. Ticket bookings are made with Tonbridge and Malling Borough Council.
Group tickets
We offer a discount of one free ticket per 10 tickets purchased. You must book as a group to qualify. If you're travelling by coach, please call us to let us know what time you expect to arrive. Our forms are temporarily hosted on the Tonbridge and Malling Borough Council website.
On the day tickets
You can buy your tickets on the day you visit from our friendly staff in the gift shop. To find us, come through the castle entrance, turn left and follow the signs. We accept cash and credit or debit cards.
Tickets for carers
Carers accompanying visitors with accessible or additional needs can visit for free.
To ensure fairness, proof of disability will be required upon arrival. View our facilities and accessibility page for more information.
